The Best Luxury Hotels in Monaco

A glimpse at some of the exceptional properties we recommend in Monaco, hand-picked by our specialists.

Luxury Holidays in Monaco

Luxury holidays in Monaco pack a great deal into two square kilometres: the Casino and Opéra de Monte-Carlo, a harbour full of superyachts, Michelin-starred dining at almost every turn and the most famous street circuit in motor racing. Most of our clients come for a long weekend, for the Grand Prix, or as part of a longer stay on the French Riviera, and our Travel Designers know the hotels, the rooms with the best views and the weeks to book early.

Why Visit Monaco?

Monaco is reached through Nice Côte d’Azur airport, with direct flights from across Europe and, in season, from New York. From Nice it is half an hour by car or seven minutes by helicopter, so it works as easily for a long weekend as for part of a longer European trip. The principality is compact and safe, so almost everything is on foot: the Prince’s Palace and the changing of the guard on Le Rocher, the Oceanographic Museum founded by Prince Albert I, the Casino gardens and the harbour. It is also one of the best places in Europe to eat. In the 2026 Michelin Guide, Monaco had nine starred restaurants, including Le Louis XV at the Hôtel de Paris, one of the few three-star restaurants on the Riviera.

Where to Stay in Monaco

We book the principality’s grand hotels, all within a few minutes of Place du Casino or the sea. Ask a Travel Designer which one suits your trip.

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo

Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo has stood on Place du Casino since 1864 and is still the address in Monaco. The suites on the upper floors look over the harbour to the Rock, and the hotel connects directly to the Thermes Marins Monte-Carlo spa. Dining is the highlight: Le Louis XV, Alain Ducasse’s restaurant, holds three Michelin stars, Le Grill on the rooftop holds one, and the wine cellar, cut into the rock beneath the hotel, is one of the largest in the world.

Hôtel Metropole, Monte-Carlo Bay and Fairmont

Hôtel Metropole Monte-Carlo, a few steps from the Casino, is quieter and more residential, with Les Ambassadeurs, a two-Michelin-star restaurant, and a pool designed by Karl Lagerfeld. Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort sits on its own peninsula by Larvotto beach, with a sand-bottomed lagoon pool that suits families and Blue Bay, Marcel Ravin’s two-star restaurant. Fairmont Monte Carlo overlooks the sea and the famous hairpin bend of the Grand Prix circuit, with a rooftop pool and terrace.

The Monaco Grand Prix

The Grand Prix is the weekend most clients ask us about. In 2027 it runs from 4 to 6 June and, for the first time, includes a sprint race. Hotel rooms overlooking the circuit, terrace and yacht hospitality, and grandstand seats sell out many months ahead, so we suggest starting to plan in the autumn before. Our Travel Designers can combine a hotel with trackside viewing, transfers and restaurant bookings for the weekend.

Beyond Monaco: the French Riviera

Monaco pairs naturally with a few days elsewhere on the Côte d’Azur. Twenty minutes along the coast, Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat and Royal-Riviera share the peninsula of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, where our Four Seasons Preferred Partner benefits apply at the Grand-Hôtel. In the hills above Nice, Château Saint-Martin & Spa looks down to the sea from Vence, and further west are Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes and Carlton Cannes. Planning Your Trip to Monaco

The practical side, from getting there to the best weeks to go. Your Travel Designer will arrange all of it.

Getting There

Nice Côte d’Azur airport has direct flights from most European cities and, in season, from New York. From the airport, Monaco is around 30 minutes by private car, or seven minutes by helicopter to the heliport at Fontvieille. Our private jet team can fly you straight to Nice or Cannes-Mandelieu.

Entry and Currency

Monaco is reached through France and has no border controls of its own, so the French and Schengen entry rules for your passport apply. The currency is the euro. Check the current entry requirements for your nationality before you travel.

When to Go

May, June and September are ideal, warm without the peak crowds. The calendar shapes the year: the Monte-Carlo Masters tennis in April, the Grand Prix in late May or early June, summer concerts in July and August, and the Monaco Yacht Show in September. Book these weeks early.
