Details
Taking to the spellbinding heights of the Highlands, the Royal Scotsman explores some of the most dramatic landscapes in Scotland, all aboard a train draped in refinement and a design that nods to the country’s heritage.
Rich wood panelling is further accentuated by intricate marquetry, tartan and wools, creating a cosy atmosphere throughout the cabins, which are configured for either twin or double occupancy and are all en-suite with private shower rooms, toilets and sinks, along with mahogany writing desks and ceiling fans.
For even more comfort, the train’s four Grand Suites offer a spacious Scottish retreat, created by local craftsmen, with luxurious finishes accented by handcrafted furnishings and a warming colour scheme of greens and blues.
Each suite has been designed to maximise comfort and features a large double bed, a private lounge with a sofa and dining table, a dressing area, a personalised minibar, and on-demand butler service.
A particular highlight of Royal Scotsman is its luxuriously appointed Dior Spa, which occupies an entire carriage devoted to wellness between the Scottish outdoor pursuits and activities that await, and offers treatments by the Maison, including massages and Dior’s Highlands Facial, specially created for the train.
Dining is also expectedly exquisite, served in elegant dining cars that overlook the mountains and forests through panoramic windows, featuring produce ranging from freshly caught fish to the finest Aberdeen beef and premium Scottish whiskies.
