Details
Yalıkavak, on the Bodrum peninsula
The Bodrum EDITION is built into a hillside above a small, sheltered bay at Yalıkavak, the most fashionable corner of the Bodrum peninsula. Rooms, gardens and terraces step down the slope to the beach, so almost every part of the hotel looks out over the Aegean. Yalıkavak Marina, with its superyachts, boutiques and restaurants, is about three kilometres away, and Bodrum town, with its castle and harbour, is around half an hour by car. Milas-Bodrum Airport is about 45 to 50 minutes away, and flights from London take around four hours in season.
The hotel is part of EDITION, the collection created by Ian Schrager with Marriott, and it feels more like a design-led private estate than a traditional beach resort: pale stone, warm wood and olive trees, with the 28-metre infinity pool halfway between the lobby and the sea.
Beyond the hotel, the peninsula is easy to explore: gulet and speedboat days to quiet coves, the old stone windmills above Yalıkavak, and the ancient theatre and castle in Bodrum town. The Greek island of Kos is a short ferry ride from Bodrum harbour, which makes for an easy day trip.
Rooms, suites and the private villa
There are 110 rooms, suites and villas, and most have sea or bay views. Entry-level Deluxe rooms are around 42 square metres, with stone floors, floor-to-ceiling windows, a balcony or terrace, and marble bathrooms with deep tubs, rain showers and Le Labo toiletries. Some rooms and suites have their own gardens or private pools.
For more space, the Sea View Loft Suites are around 97 square metres over two levels, and the Yalıkavak Suite is around 217 square metres. At the top of the range is a four-bedroom private villa with its own pool and sauna, which works well for families or groups of friends who want the hotel’s facilities with the privacy of a house.
Spa, pool and beach club
The spa has eight treatment rooms, open-air treatment cabanas and a traditional Turkish hammam, where treatments follow the Ottoman ritual of steam, black soap and a kese glove scrub before a massage. There is a fitness centre, a Pilates studio and a yoga terrace facing the sea.
Below the infinity pool, the Beach Club has a soft sand beach, a wooden deck and jetty for swimming in deeper water, and cabanas that can be reserved for the day. The shallow water close to the shore suits younger swimmers.
Restaurants, bars and nightlife
Food is one of the main reasons to stay. KITCHEN by Osman Sezener serves Turkish coastal cooking using produce from the hotel’s own gardens and local farms, and The Trattoria by Stefano Ciotti brings Italian cooking from a Michelin-starred chef. DAHA by Mehmet Akdağ is a specialist grill, Morena serves lunch and long dinners by the beach, and Inari Kujira offers Asian fusion. There are two bars and a nightclub, which make the hotel lively in July and August. Some venues open for the peak months only.

The Bodrum EDITION is in Yalıkavak, on the western tip of the Bodrum peninsula in south-west Turkey. It sits on a hillside above its own sandy bay, about three kilometres from Yalıkavak Marina and around half an hour by car from Bodrum town.
The nearest airport is Milas-Bodrum (BJV), about 45 to 50 minutes away by car. Flights from London take around four hours in season, and we arrange private transfers timed to your flights.
The hotel is seasonal and usually opens from early April to late October. It is closed through the winter months.
May, June and September are the best months, with warm sea, long sunny days and a calmer atmosphere. July and August are the hottest and busiest, when Yalıkavak is at its liveliest. April and October are quieter and cooler, and good value for a relaxing stay.
We suggest four to seven nights. That allows time for the beach club and spa, a boat day along the coast, and dinners at KITCHEN and in Yalıkavak. It also combines well with a few nights in Istanbul.
Yes. There is a 28-metre infinity pool overlooking the bay and a private Beach Club with a sandy beach, a wooden deck and jetty, and cabanas that can be reserved for the day.
Yes, particularly for families with older children. The shallow water by the beach suits young swimmers and the four-bedroom villa works well for larger families, but the hotel is built on a hillside with many steps, which is worth bearing in mind with pushchairs.
Through our Marriott STARS partnership, you receive full daily breakfast for two, a $100 hotel credit per stay, a priority room upgrade and a personalised VIP welcome, at the same rate as booking directly with Marriott. Your Travel Designer also looks after restaurant bookings, transfers and anything else you need.
