One of Kenya’s most distinctive stays, Giraffe Manor is a show-stopping boutique hotel in the Lang’ata suburb of Nairobi, set among 140 acres of forest, home to a herd of resident Rothschild’s giraffes that roam the hotel’s grounds. Twelve rooms, each named after one of the resident giraffes or the storied past of the manor, are uniquely designed and feature balconies with windows for feeding the giraffes that pass by for breakfast.

Details
Part of The Safari Collection, the manor dates back to 1932 and draws inspiration from a Scottish hunting lodge, setting the scene for the heritage-led design accents across the hotel.
Situated within 12 acres of private grounds, the manor is in the heart of the conservation land that forms part of its initiative dedicated to protecting the endangered giraffes that roam freely.
Comprised of just twelve uniquely designed rooms, two of which are spacious family suites, each blends art deco design, synonymous with the building’s storied history, and is split across the Manor House and Garden Manor buildings.
The manor’s charm is met with hospitality typical of a country-house hotel, and immersive encounters with the giraffes are a daily occurrence, with many of the rooms featuring terraces and balconies that give the inspiring opportunity to feed the giraffes during breakfast as they peruse the grounds.
Dining focuses on local cuisine and ingredients, with signature experiences served in the manor’s formal dining room and dedicated children’s menus for younger guests.
Guests staying at the manor can also enjoy access to The Retreat at Giraffe Manor, a sanctuary devoted to wellness adjacent to the main house, offering tailored therapies, a fitness studio, and a stunning infinity pool which overlooks the forest landscape.
