Details

Away from the bustling city, Aman Kyoto is surrounded by private forest and moss-covered landscapes and is home to 24 suites and two villas. The accommodation follows the design of a traditional ryokan, with low-rise pavilions that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

The suites are bathed in neutral tones, and Aman’s pared-back interior design is accentuated by warm timber, washi paper screens and floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the enveloping forest. Each features wood-crafted soaking tubs and generous living areas.

Wellness is an intimate affair at the hotel’s Aman Spa, which is intentionally understated in keeping with Aman’s core values and serves as a place of restorative wellbeing.

It is punctuated by treatment rooms, spaces dedicated to yoga and meditation, and a natural onsen enriched with mineral-rich waters.

For dining, Aman’s signature concepts are reinterpreted, with each experience offering a culinary journey through Western and Japanese cuisine. At Taka-An, Japanese flavours are explored with a contemporary flair, while at the Living Pavilion, gourmet dishes are served in a relaxed setting.

The hotel also extends to Senkutsu, a tea house offering traditional tea ceremonies and the opportunity to experience local rituals that lie at the heart of Kyoto’s culture.
